Users do not need Admin-Rights to install the Native Edition
- This means, every normal user will be able to install the Native Edition without asking the administrator to help him
- This reduces the load on the IT and makes it a lot easier to try GoEdit without any IT involved
- The IT does not need to be worried, since we obviously do not change any system-critical values or values which do not apply to corporate guidelines
- We have been working hard on minimizing the requirements and permissions the Native Clients needs on the system
- Optional: as GoEdit is distributed as [Link: You are not allowed to view this content], your IT can easily deploy GoEdit companywide for all your users by using GPO.
Installation
Windows
- Start editing an attachment to bring up the automatic installer
- Follow the instructions and download GoEdit
- Complete installer
Hint: If you want a "Per Machine" or GPO based installation, please see Windows Installation Management (MSI, GPO)
Mac OS X
- Start editing an attachment to bring up the automatic installer
- Follow the instructions and download GoEdit
- Install by Drag-'n'-Drop the GoEdit icon to your "Application" folder:
Linux
- Start editing an attachment to bring up the download dialog
- Run the installer script from a terminal: "bash GoEdit-linux.install"
- Follow the instructions of the installer.
Browser confirmation
Depending on your Browser, you will see one of those confirmation dialogs on the first start
Internet Explorer
The Internet Explorer does not need any confirmation, it will work right of the box.
Firefox
When you start GoEdit the first time after the installation, your Firefox Browser will ask you for the confirmation if you want to allow GoEdit to be connected and opened. Please select "remember" and leave GoEdit as the application, then click on "open link".
Chrome
When you start GoEdit the first time after the installation, your Chrome Browser will ask you for the confirmation if you want to allow GoEdit to be connected and opened. Please select "remember", then click on "Open GoEdit".
Safari
When you start GoEdit the first time after the installation, your Safari Browser will ask you for the confirmation if you want to allow GoEdit to be connected and opened. Please click on "Allow".
Update
GoEdit Native Client 3.0.0
- Jira/Confluence Server: Please go to your GoEdit Configuration page at Confluence and Jira : https://<yourdomain>/plugins/servlet/admin/goedit/config or just the "Manage Apps" page in the sidebar under "Configure GoEdit" and download GoEdit for your OS.

MacOS
Just run the GoEdit-macos.pkg, it will replace your old installation. If you are a Chrome user, please restart your browser once.
Linux
Please close Goedit (tray icon). Then just run the GoEdit-linux.install using
It should update your installation and you are set to go.
